  1. Diabetics not on insulin should at least once a month check both fasting and after food sugars. They should check HbA1c every 3 months. Micro albumin for kidney complications and retina for eye complications should be done every 6 months or at least once a year. Cholesterol should be checked once every 3 months or at least once every 6 months.
